The centennial celebration in 1909, in the presence of the emperor.

After years of cultural conflict and uncertainty, the turn of the century ushered in a new era of politics dominated by identification with the homeland. The year 1809 and the local militia tradition were central themes of events honoring the politics of the past. One of the highlights was the spectacular centennial celebration of 1909. The cyclorama also played an important role in reestablishing Tyrolean cultural identity.
